Recruitment Fair Seeks to Attract New Apprentices
(Washington, DC) The Department of Employment Services’ Office of Apprenticeship and Training has partnered with six sprinkler-fitter contractors and the Sprinkler-fitters Union Local No. 669 to recruit eligible District residents for a career in the sprinkler-fitter trade. The recruitment fair will be held:

Eligible apprentices must be District residents, age 18 or older, drug-free with a high school diploma or a GED certificate, and a valid driver’s license (a means of transportation is preferred, but not required). Applicants must be physically fit to perform the functions of the job. The starting salary will range from $10 to $12 an hour.
All applicants are required to preregister at a DOES One-Stop Career Center prior to the recruitment fair. Each preregistered applicant will be given a scheduled time to be interviewed. Interested parties who do not register will be seen after scheduled applicants are interviewed.
