DC's Top 200 Employers

The Department of Employment Services (DOES) first published the Directory of the 200 Major Employers of the District of Columbia in 1984. The directory ranks the top 200 firms in the District of Columbia by the size of their workforce; it also displays employers in alphabetical order. The employment levels used for selecting and ranking employers were those reported to the District's Unemployment Compensation Program as of September 2003.

The DC Top 200 Employers directory is a broad representation of District-based industries, including social services, department stores, restaurants, hotels, educational institutions, construction firms, financial institutions, and membership organizations. For more information contact the Labor Market Information Division at (202) 724-7213.
